Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Seth Halvorsen was drafted three times, by three different teams out of three different educational institutions before finally signing with the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies had picked him in the 7th round of the 2023 amateur draft out of the University of Tennessee. He had spent the 2023 season there after missing 2022 with an injury and pitching the three previous seasons at the University of Missouri. His time in Missouri was curtailed by an injury after just 4 relief appearances as a freshman in 2019, and 14 games as a position player before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the college season 2020. He was unable to pitch that year, as he was still recovering from the previous year's injury, but he returned to the mound in 2021. He appeared in the 2023 College World Series with Tennessee.

A little over a year after having last been drafted, on August 30, 2024, he made his major league debut with the Rockies, pitching a third of an inning in relief to close out a 5-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles.
