Biographical Information[edit]

Serhiy Holovko hit .250/.348/.250 in the 2001 European Championship. The teenager was the main catcher for the Ukraine and allowed 15 steals in 16 tries while commiting three passed balls. Backing up Artem Palamarchuk in the 2003 European Championship, he was 1 for 7 with a RBI and was plunked twice. In 2006, Holovko played for MZLU Express Brno in the Czech Extraliga. He was 1 for 3 with 3 walks in the 2007 European Championship as the backup to Oleh Shkatula; he also retired one batter as a relief pitcher.

Holovko was 2 for 10 with four walks, 3 RBI and 4 runs in the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers.
