Serge Kaouane
Biographical Information[edit]
Serge Kaouane was on the French national team in the 1991 Intercontinental Cup, their first Intercontinental Cup. He split the catching with Emmanuel Dang-Yan. He got their first start and faced Spain's Gabriel Valarezo his first time up. He finished 1-for-11, his hit coming off the USSR's Leonid Korneev. He fielded .929 and had four passed balls in five games but threw out 4 of 11 who tried to steal. [1] The next year, he played for the Rouen Huskies but broke his cheekbone, nose and teeth when hit in the head by a ball in a play at the plate; there was concern he also would lose his eye. [2]
