Biographical Information[edit]
Seok Jeong was a pitcher on the South Korean national team that won the 1997 Asian Championship. The Samsung Lions drafted him in the fourth round of the second phase in the 1996 KBO draft, but he refused to sign. He then signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1998 with a 100K signing bonus. Jeong had a 4.44 ERA in 5 games in San Bernardino Stampede in his rookie year, then improved to 1.71 ERA in 9 games in 1999. However, he had a car accident after the 1999 season, and the Dodgers released him. Jeong then returned to Korea and became a high school coach.
