Biographical information

Segal Drummond spent two seasons in the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league system.

Drummond spent the 1950 and 1951 seasons with the Bartlesville Pirates of the Class D Kansas-Oklahoma-Missouri League. In 113 games, he hit .287 with 30 doubles, 7 triples, and 4 home runs. In the field, he played third, short, and the outfield.

Drummond left baseball to help out with the family coal business. At the time of his retirement, he was senior executive vice president of the Drummond Company, the largest surface mining company in Alabama. He was married to his wife Beverly for 60 years. They had two sons, Segal Edward, Jr. and Mark Stephen. Segal, Jr., who goes by the name Ed, played baseball for Walker College. Segal was inducted into the Walker High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998. He died in 2010 at the The University of Alabama Hospital at the age of 78 from an undisclosed cause.
