Biographical Information

Sec Taylor was the sports editor at the Des Moines Register from 1915 to 1965. In 1959, Pioneer Memorial Stadium in Des Moines, IA was renamed Sec Taylor Stadium, a named that carried over to its replacement, which was built on the same location in 1992, until a corporate naming deal erased Taylor's memory when the ballpark became known as Principal Park in 2004.
