Biographical Information[edit]

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, there was a pipeline of talent running from St. Croix to Miami Edison Senior High. Those players included one major-leaguer in Midre Cummings, a second-round draft pick in Eddie Williams, and two other minor leaguers in Jackie Ross and Sean Nolan.

The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted Nolan as a shortstop in the 23rd round in 1992. The 19-year-old played third base for the GCL Pirates. He batted .228/.270/.315 with one homer, 20 runs and 9 RBIs in 37 games. He stole 8 bases in 11 tries. He fielded .881 at the hot corner. That was the extent of Nolan's pro career.
