Biographical Information[edit]

Scott Schneider pitched in the St. Louis Cardinals system from 2009 to 2012. He was taken by the club in the 20th round of the 2009 amateur draft, a couple picks ahead of slugger J.D. Martinez. He was signed by scout Jamal Strong.

He was 3-3 with a 2.04 ERA in 17 games (10 starts) between two clubs his first campaign, striking out 76 in 70 2/3 innings. In 2010, he went 8-9 with a 3.46 mark in 27 games (21 starts) and was named a Midwest League Mid-Season All-Star, though he slipped to 7-10, 5.98 in 35 games (20 starts) in 2011. In 2012, he was 1-2 with a 7.00 ERA in 22 games (4 starts) to wrap up his career.

Overall, Schneider went 19-24 with a 4.42 ERA in 101 games (55 starts). In 370 2/3 innings, he allowed 355 hits and 119 walks (1.279 WHIP), while striking out 305 batters.
