Biographical Information[edit]

Scot Ruffcorn pitched in five major league seasons with the Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Phillies. He never won a game, going 0-8 in 30 games, including 9 starts; his career ERA was 8.57. He committed 3 errors in a game on September 28, 1993.

Ruffcorn pitched 8 years in the minors with an outstanding 64-25 record and a 3.26 ERA. In 1992 he went 14-5 with the Sarasota White Sox; in 1994 he went 15-3 with the Nashville Sounds; and in 1996 he went 13-4 with Nashville.

Ruffcorn was part of the Chicago White Sox 1993 and 1994, both of which teams finished first in their division. The majority of his major league appearances, though, were with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1997.

In 2007 he was coaching at St. Stephen's Episcopal School, where one of the head coaches was Keith Moreland. He has two children named Lisa and Jason.

Miscellany[edit]

Ruffcorn holds the all-time record for most consecutive seasons with an ERA above 7.00 (no minimum IP). He had five such consecutive seasons (which constituted his entire career).
