Saturnino Bengoa Urrutia
Saturnino Bengoa was a multi-sport athlete for El Salvador at the 1930 Central American Games. He played on El Salvador's soccer team, volleyball team (winning a Silver Medal), competed in javelin and the long jump and was the star of their baseball team. He went 3 for 8 with two steals, a double and three runs. He fielded .909 at first base and pitched once (3 IP, 5 H, 5 BB, 2 WP, 4 R). In 1957, Estadio Saturnino Bengoa was built in San Salvador; it remains one of the top fields in the country and was used in the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games and 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games.
