Sara Goodrum

Biographical Information[edit]

Sara Goodrum played Division I softball at the University of Oregon from 2012-2015 and later earned a master's degree in exercise and sports science from the University of Utah. She played outfield for the Ducks.

Goodrum joined the Milwaukee Brewers organization in April 2017 as an intern. She moved into a full-time position in November 2017 in the club's sports science department with the official title of Coordinator for Integrative Sports Performance. She was promoted to minor league hitting coordinator in October 2020 though the promotion wasn't announced until January 28, 2021 along with all the other coaches and coordinators. Goodrum was the first woman to oversee the entire minor league hitting program for a major league team.

In 2022, she moved to the Houston Astros as Director of Player Development and remained in that position in 2023. She interviewed for the role of farm director for the Miami Marlins after that season, but the job went to another pioneering woman, Rachel Balkovec. Still the Marlins were impressed enough to offer another job, as director of special projects.
