Biographical information[edit]

Santiago Ramirez was signed by scout Luis Coronado for the Houston Astros in June 1997. He made his pro debut with the DSL Astros that summer. He was signed by the Kansas City Royals as a minor league free agent in November 2004.

Ramirez saved 3 games and allowed no runs in 6 1/3 IP for the Dominican Republic national team in the 2001 Baseball World Cup, leading the tourney in saves.

He was 1-0 with a 5.47 ERA in 27 games for the 2007 Chunichi Dragons. He allowed 3 runs in 3 1/3 innings for the Aguilas Cibaeñas in the 2008 Caribbean Series.
