Biographical Information[edit]
Sang-won Baek has played in the Korea Baseball Organization.
Baek led a Korean minor league in average in 2010. In the 2011 Baseball World Cup, he started off as a backup middle infielder for the South Korean national team before becoming their starting DH. He hit .154/.241/.154 for the tournament, with only 3 runs and 2 RBI in 11 games. Both RBI came as a pinch-hitter against Nicaragua's José Luis Sáenz for the winning runs of a 6-4 victory. In the 5th/6th place game, he went 0 for 2 with a walk (from Kable Hogben) as South Korea's DH and #6 batter before being replaced by Jin-hyuk No in a loss to Australia. He made his Korea Baseball Organization debut in 2013 and was 0 for 4 as of early August.
