Biographical Information

Sang-sam Hong has been a pitcher in the Korea Baseball Organization.

The Doosan Bears drafted Hong out of high school in 2008. He was 9-6 with a 5.23 ERA as a rookie in 2009 and fell to 4-3, 6.42 in 2010 then barely pitched in 2011 (0-1, 6.33). He made major strides in 2012, going 5-2 with a save, 1.93 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 65 2/3 IP while allowing just 35 hits. He was third in the KBO with 22 holds. He remained sharp despite poor control in 2013 (5-4, Sv, 2.50 in 55 G; 51 H, 77 K, 45 BB in 72 IP).
