San Quentin, CA

San Quentin is located in central California, on San Francisco Bay east of San Rafael, CA. Duster Mails was born here.

It is better known as the site of a large state prison. Exhibition games were regularly staged against professional baseball players, including major leaguers, for many years. Ralph Schwamb served part of his sentence here after being convicted of murder and was a star pitcher ofr the prison team.
