San Joaquin 1 played in the Venezuelan Summer League in 1997-1998, representing San Joaquin, Carabobo. They went 25-32 in 1997 to finish 5th in the six-team league. Jose Carreno hit .304 for them. In '98, the club was 25-34 to finish 6th of the 8 clubs. The 1998 team was a co-op of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros and Montréal Expos.
