Biographical Information[edit]

Sammy Pruett was an All-American infielder.

Pruett set Gardner-Webb career records for homers (38), RBI (184), OBP (.429) and slugging (.638) while finishing second in average (.363) and third in fielding at 1B (.988). In 2000, he set a school record with 16 home runs, driving in 87, and was named All-American for NCAA Division II at 1B. He took Gardner-Webb to the 2000 Division II World Series. His only pro action came with the Richmond Roosters in 2000, going 3 for 9 with 4 walks and a run.
