Biographical Information[edit]
Samantha Magalas is a baseball player who played for Canada at the 2004 Women's Baseball World Cup, 2006 Women's Baseball World Cup and 2008 Women's Baseball World Cup. She debuted with Canada in 1999 and played in the Women's World Series in 2001 and 2002. She is a first baseman and outfielder. She played on the York University men's baseball team from 2004-2005, the first woman to play men's baseball for a Canadian college.
In the 2004 World Cup, she hit .318/.348/.365 and was second on Canada with 5 RBI and in 2006, she batted .235/.381/.235.
Magalas was a two-time Burlington, Ontario Athlete of the Year. She was a basketball, hockey and track athlete in addition to baseball.
She coached for Canada in the 2012 Women's Baseball World Cup (Bronze Medal), 2014 Women's Baseball World Cup and 2015 Pan American Games (Silver Medal).
