Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Sam Camalo played in the minor leagues on-and-off from 1928 to 1941. He knew how to swing the bat, hitting .324 in 76 games for the Springfield Midgets in 1929 and .297 in 104 games for the New Iberia Cardinals in 1934. He replaced Hank Doty as the Cardinals' manager partway through the 1934, then began as their skipper in 1935, but was replaced by Bud Teachout.
He's the only known "Camalo" in professional baseball history.
