Biographical Information[edit]

Sam Allen played in the Negro Leagues.

Allen's father died when he was young. He signed with the Kansas City Monarchs for 1957, hitting .295 that year. The left fielder moved to the Raleigh Tigers the next year and the Memphis Red Sox in 1959. In 1960, he joined the US Army and played baseball and football for the Fort Bragg team. He later went into tile flooring and was a longshoreman.
