Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Ryan Powell played in independent baseball. He played a game for the Continental League's Texarkana Gunslingers in 2008, 8 games for the same league's Big Bend Cowboys in 2009, 2 games for the Canadian-American Association's NYSL Federals in 2011, 27 games for the Pecos League's Carlsbad Bats in 2011 and 1 game for the same league's Trinidad Triggers in 2012. He hit .206 with 14 RBI, 9 runs scored, 13 walks and 27 strikeouts in 102 at-bats overall. He missed 2010 to Tommy John surgery.

He was also the Triggers' manager for part of the season, replacing Justin Lowery and being replaced by J.D. Droddy.

He later became a scout, serving as head of independent league scouting for the Baltimore Orioles from 2014 to 2018. He joined the Lake Erie Crushers as hitting coach in 2021.
