Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Ryan Lockwood redshirted at the University of Florida in 2007. He then transferred and starred at the University of South Florida. In his first season there, 2008, he slashed .415/.493/.513 with 80 hits and 12 stolen bases in 44 games. Numerous honors followed, including being named Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's 2008 Freshman Player of the Year, Rivals.com Freshman All-American, First Team, Baseball America Freshman All-American, First Team, Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Freshman All-American, First Team, Ping! Baseball Freshman All-American, First Team All-Big East Conference. During the season, he began a 32-game hitting streak, which ended in February 2009. The Oakland Athletics took him in the 39th round of the 2009 amateur draft, but he did not sign.

In he 2007, he played for the Cape Cod League's Harwich Mariners and the Coastal Plain League's Fayetteville SwampDogs. His father, William Lockwood, played professional baseball.

He later trained to be a Navy SEAL.
