Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Ryan Hankins played in the minor leagues from 1998 to 2005. He reached Triple A each year from 2003 to 2005, but never reached the major leagues.
He was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 33rd round of the 1994 amateur draft, a few picks after infielder Rick Short, but did not sign. He did sign after being taken by the Chicago White Sox in the 13th round of the 1997 amateur draft. His best year was perhaps his second -- in 129 games with the Burlington Bees, Hankins hit .294/.402/.476 with 15 home runs, 74 RBI, 11 steals, 36 doubles and 91 walks.
In 2003, he played for the Peoria Javelinas of the Arizona Fall League.
In 801 career games, Hankins hit .277/.366/.442 with 82 home runs and 424 RBI.
