Biographical Information

Ryan Groves was with the South African national team for the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. His only outing came with South Africa down, 10-3, entering the 9th against Spain. Relieving Carl Michaels, he walked Engel Beltre, plunked Néstor Pérez and served up a two-run double to Blake Ochoa before Gavin Jeffries relieved. Ochoa would also come around to score, giving Groves three earned runs to zero outs.
