Biographical Information[edit]

Ryan Flannery pitched in the New York Yankees system from 2008 to 2012. Despite a career ERA below 2.50, he never pitched above Double-A.

The Yankees took him in the 47th round of the 2007 amateur draft, a couple picks after infielder Drew Maggi. He debuted with the GCL Yankees in 2008, going 2-1 with 7 saves and a 0.86 ERA in 15 appearances. Between the Staten Island Yankees and Charleston RiverDogs in 2009, he went 4-2 with a 2.40 ERA in 40 games, striking out 51 batters in 48 2/3 innings; he led the New York-Penn League in appearances with 34. He pitched for Charleston and the Tampa Yankees in 2010, going 8-6 with 14 saves and a 2.26 ERA in 47 games. He was a South Atlantic League Mid-Season All-Star that year. Between Tampa and the Trenton Thunder in 2011, he went 3-1 with 19 saves and a 2.03 ERA in 40 appearances, finishing 35 of his games. He last played in 2012, going 3-2 with 8 saves and a 3.97 ERA in 37 games for Trenton.

Overall, Flannery went 20-12 with 54 saves, 129 games finished and a 2.44 ERA in 179 appearances over five seasons. In 247 1/3 innings, he allowed 206 hits and 66 walks (1.100 WHIP), while striking out 215 batters.
