Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Ryan Carter played in the Philadelphia Phillies system from 2000 to 2003.

He was drafted twice, originally by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1997 and then by the Phillies in the 8th round of the 2000 amateur draft, ahead of star pitcher Brandon Webb.

He was 22-33 with a 4.67 ERA in 80 games (78 starts), striking out 347 batters in 420 1/3 innings. Perhaps his best year was 2002, when he went 9-9 with a 4.34 ERA in 25 games (24 starts) for the Clearwater Phillies.
