Biographical Information[edit]
Ryan Additon umpired his first major league game on May 21, 2017 as a fill-in umpire called up from the minor leagues. He is a graduate of the Harry Wendelstedt Umpire School.
Befoer the 2022 season, he was promoted to MLB's full-time umpiring roster. he had already accumulated 381 games of major league experience at that point. Among these games was being the home plate umpire for Corey Kluber's no-hitter on May 19, 2021 as part of what was basically a ful schedules of major league games, even though he was still officially classified as a AAA umpire.
He is the brother of minor league pitcher Nick Additon. The two have appeared in the same game in the minors on various occasions.
