Rudy Garbalosa is a college coach.
Garbalosa was a second baseman at Long Beach State. After graduating college, he was head coach at Bishop Montgomery High School from 1991-1994. In 1995-1996, he was third base coach and academic adviser at Loyola Marymount University. He was the top assistant at El Camino College in 1997. He was head coach for Immaculata-La Salle High School in 1998. From 1998-2001, he was assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Lynn University.
In 2002, Garbalosa became head coach of Lynn. His clubs won 35 games in 2003 (their most in 7 years), were 35-21 in 2005, made their first NCAA tournament appearance in 2006 and were 32-24 in 2007. Through 2008, he was 250-187 at Lynn. Lynn was 42-16 in 2009 and Garbalosa led the team to the 2009 Division II College World Series title. It was not just their first national title, but also their first appearance in the Series.
