Biographical Information[edit]

Roy Zimmerman played well during his one stint in the majors in September 1945, showing some power. His .439 slugging percentage was one of the better ones on the New York Giants of 1945, an above-.500 team.

Zimmerman and Otis Clymer are (through 2009) the only two major leaguers born in Pine Grove, PA.

Roy played over a decade in the minors. He was with the Newark Bears for most of the 1945 season, hitting 32 home runs. Oddly, he was not normally a home run hitter, banging only four the previous year.
