Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Ronny Henriquez was signed by the Texas Rangers on July 3, 2017 as an international free agent. he made his professional debut the following year with the DSL Rangers 2 going 5-0, 1.55 in 15 starts. He made the Dominican Summer League All-Star team and in 2019 moved all the way up to the Hickory Crawdads of the South Atlantic League where he went 6-6, 4.50 in 21 games, including 19 starts. He struck out 99 batters in 82 innings. After being forced into inactivity because of the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020, he returned to action in 2021 back with Hickory, a team which had by then been promoted one level to the High-A East by the Minor League Reorganization. He went 1-3, 2.75 in 5 starts before earning another promotion, this time to the Frisco Rough Riders of the Double-A Central. Understandably, he found the going rougher, but still went 4-4, 5.04 in 16 games. Overall between the two stops, he was a combined 5-7, 4.71 with 105 strikeouts in 93 2/3 innings.

On March 12, 2022, just after the resolution of the 2021-2022 lockout, he was part of the first trade of major league players since the freeze on transactions was lifted, heading to the Minnesota Twins along with SS Isiah Kiner-Falefa in return for C Mitch Garver. He made his major league debut for the Twins on September 19th of that year, pitching four innings in relief of Sonny Gray and giving up 3 runs in an 11-4 loss to the Cleveland Guardians. He had spent the season in AAA with the St. Paul Saints, going 3-4, 5.66 with 1 save as a swingman with 14 starts in 24 appearances.
