Biographical Information[edit]
Ronny De Vriendt played and coached in the First Division.
De Vriendt was on the Belgian national team that won Bronze in the 1977 European Championship. He played for Belgium in the 1978 Amateur World Series, their first Amateur World Series. He was 0-2 with a 18.90 ERA (only Frank Mathys was higher for Belgium), allowing 23 hits, 3 walks and 21 runs (14 earned) in 6 2/3 IP while fanning two. Backing up Albert De Lannoy in left field, he went 0 for 7. He helped Belgium win Bronze again in the 1979 European Championship. His playing career ended with the K. Deurne Spartans in 1993. He later was their head coach, including winning titles in 2016 and 2018.
