Ron Porterfield

Ron Porterfield is a major league trainer.
Porterfield was a trainer in the Houston Astros organization from 1988 to 1996, peaking at AAA. In 1997, he joined the Tampa Bay Devil Rays as minor league medical and rehabilitation coordinator. He was assistant Devil Rays trainer from 2003 to 2005, then was promoted to head athletic trainer. In 2009, his staff was honored as Major League Medical Staff of the Year by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society.
