Biographical Information[edit]

Ron McMackin played one season in the Kansas City Royals chain, 1969. With the class A- Winnipeg Goldeyes, he slashed .310/.474/.437 in 33 games. He played catcher, third base, and the outfield. He also appeared in 26 games with the AIL Royals in the Arizona Instructional League, slashing .160/.391/.300, playing catcher, second base, third base, and first base. Both teams on which he played had the worst records in their respective leagues.

He was a contestant on the ABC version of Break the Bank, first appearing on May 12, 1976; he was introduced as a plumbing contractor. He won one game, winning a Mexican cruise and $300. The producers invited him to participate in a not-for-broadcast episode taped on May 20 which was produced to test a rule change which was later implemented.
