Infielder Ron Debus played 9 seasons of minor league ball, primarily in the Kansas City Athletics organization.
A native of Kansas City, Kansas, and a graduate of Bishop Ward High School, Debus began his pro career with the Grand Island A's in 1958. He hit .393 that year to lead the Nebraska State League. With the AA Shreveport Sports in 1961, he hit .303 with 12 home runs, and the following summer, he posted a .284 average while clubbing 14 homers for the AAA Portland Beavers.
