Biographical Information[edit]
Roman Bessonov was 0-1 with a 3.27 ERA for Russia in the 1997 World Junior Championship. [1] He was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers and assigned to the Great Falls Dodgers but never got into a game. [2] Fellow Russian signee Alexander Toropov did see action with Great Falls. In the 2003 European Championship, he hit .120/.153/.120 with two runs in eight games as Russia's main first baseman; he fielded .984. [3] He batted .160/.300/.160 in the 2005 European Championship and fielded .913, again starting at 1B for Russia. [4]
