Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Rolddy Muñoz is the twin brother of Roddery Muñoz. The two were signed by the Atlanta Braves as international amateur free agents on the same day, June 11, 2018.

Rolddy began his pro career with the DSL Braves in 2019, going 0-1, 6.23 in 8 games. After being forced to sit out the 2020 season when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the minor leagues, he moved over to the States in 2021, pitching for both the FCL Braves and the Augusta GreenJackets, and going 4-2, 5.40 in 16 games. In 2022, while his brother was taking a big league forward, he had another disappointing season for two Class-A teams, Augusta and the Rome Braves of the South Atlantic League. His combined record was 1-3, 5.90 in32 games, mainly in relief, with 79 strikeouts in 58 innings, but also71 hits and 24 walks. In 2023 he pitched much better for Rome as he finished at 4-1, 2.29 in 20 games, including 7 starts. His strikeout rate remained good at 60 in 59 innings, but his improvement came from a much better hit rate as he allowed just 47.

For all his improvement in 2023, Rolddy was still with Rome, with the team now re-named the Rome Emperors, at the start of 2024. By the end of April, his twin brother had made his big league debut, while he was still toiling in Class A.
