Biographical Information[edit]

In 1948, Roland LeBlanc led the Pocatello Cardinals to the best record in the Pioneer League. In mid-1949, he took over the Winston-Salem Cardinals from George Ferrell, who had taken the team over from Willie Duke. In 1950, LeBlanc managed the Fresno Cardinals and was named All-Star catcher in the California League. In 1952 and 1953, LeBlanc repeated the feat of managing Fresno and being named all-star catcher while leading the 1952 team to the league title. In 1954 he moved up to the Lynchburg Cardinals, managing and being named to yet another all-star team. He returned to Fresno in 1955, guiding the team to a 104-43 record, league title, and 5th all-star nod in 6 years. In 1956 he moved up to managing the Allentown Cardinals. 1957 saw LeBlanc leave the Cards organization, managing the independent Fresno Sun Sox to last place in the Cal League.

LeBlanc was a scout for the expansion Seattle Pilots in 1969 and stayed with the franchise in Milwaukee through at least the mid-1980s. LeBlanc signed Robin Yount for the Brewers.

LeBlanc's brother, Remy LeBlanc, played in the minors in 1942 and 1946-1954.
