Biographical Information[edit]

The son of Luis Polonia, Rodney Polonia was one of the first six signees by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2010 after the international signing period began. The scout was Rene Gayo. He debuted as a pro with the 2011 DSL Pirates, hitting only .182/.247/.227 and fielding only .895 at second base. He improved to .960 in 2012, batting .215/.276/.289 for the DSL Pirates 2. In 2013, he hit .235/.297/.289 for the DSL Pirates 1.

He moved to the Colorado Rockies chain in 2014, going 6 for 21 with two doubles, a walk and a homer for the Tri-City Dust Devils.
