Biographical Information[edit]

Roberto Girón pitched in the minor leagues from 1993-2013, including 284 games over 5 seasons at AAA, but never made the majors. He pitched in the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, the US and Mexico. With the Dominican national team in the 2001 Baseball World Cup, he was 0-1 with a 4.76 ERA in four games. He took the tough 3-1 loss to Norge Luis Vera and Cuba in the quarterfinals that eliminated the Dominicans from medal contention. His brothers are former minor league pitchers Emiliano Girón and Isabel Girón.

Giron was pitching coach of the DSL Dodgers in 2015, DSL Dodgers 2 in 2016, DSL Dodgers 1 in 2017-2019, and DSL Dodgers Shoemaker/Mega in 2021-2024.
