Biographical Information[edit]

Robert Pepen pitched in the New York Mets system from 1996 to 2000. He began his career at 17 years old in the Dominican Summer League and played there through 1998. In 1999, he arrived stateside, going 3-1 with a 1.47 ERA in 19 relief appearances for the GCL Mets; in 30 2/3 innings, he had 34 strikeouts and posted a 0.880 WHIP. Between the Kingsport Mets and Pittsfield Mets in 2000, he was 1-2 with a 1.90 mark in 20 relief appearances. He had 26 Ks in 23 2/3 frames. He was an Appalachian League All-Star. That ended up being his final season.
