Biographical Information[edit]

Robert Owens was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 3rd round of the 1966 Amateur Draft (45th overall). He played three seasons as a catcher in the Cubs system before becoming injured following the 1968 campaign.

Playing for the Treasure Valley Cubs, Quincy Cubs, and Lodi Crushers, Owens had a career batting average of .254 with 14 doubles, 4 triples, and 3 home runs.

Robert's brother, Jack Owens, was a contestant on the reality television series Big Brother 4 in 2003.
