Treasure Valley Cubs

From BR Bullpen

The Treasure Valley Cubs were a Chicago Cubs affiliate in the Pioneer League for three years, starting in 1964 and were managed by George Freese for their entire existence. In their first season, they won the league title, led by pitcher Paul Symeon and his 2.13 ERA. Alumni who went on to the majors were Jim Qualls and Bob Terlecki.

The next season, they repeated as champs, as Gary Cortopassi led the league with 15 home runs. The Cubs fell to second place in 1966, despite a league-high 11 homers for shortstop Fredrick Rodriguez. Dean Burk and Archie Reynolds anchored that season's pitching staff with 9 wins apiece. In 1967, the Caldwell Cubs replaced them as the Cubs farm team in Caldwell, Idaho.
