Bob Turcio spent three seasons playing in Italy and appeared in the Olympics.

Turcio once hit a ball out of Yale Stadium. He hit 29 home runs and batted .348 during his collegiate career, including a .477 mark in 1977. He appeared in the 1977 Division II College World Series, 1978 Division II College World Series and 1979 Division II College World Series. He played for Castenaso in Italy in 1982, hitting .283 with 13 home runs while going 5-15. In '83, Bob was only 4-16 for Castenaso while hitting .308 with 14 homers. He represented Italy in the 1983 European Championship, going 0 for 3 with a walk as a backup corner outfielder and DH; he tossed three shutout innings, fanning six and earned a win. Moving to Santacangelo in 1984, he batted over .380 while his home run total fell to nine. He went 8-13 with two saves. He was with Italy for the 1984 Olympics. He later was an assistant coach at his alma mater and at Quinnipiac College and coached at the Batter's Box baseball clinic. In 1990, he was inducted into the University of New Haven's Hall of Fame.
