Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Robert Hartig played in the minor leagues from 1949 to 1954, mostly in the Chicago Cubs system (1950-1954). He won 12 games, completed 13 and had an Appalachian League-leading 200 strikeouts for the Elizabethton Betsy Local his first year, then he went 18-9 with a 2.44 ERA for the Sioux Falls Canaries in 1950. He had one more season of note, in 1952, when he went 16-11 with 20 complete games and a 2.52 ERA in 35 games for the Greensboro Patriots. Overall, he went 63-61 in six seasons.
