Biographical Information[edit]
Rob Penders played for the Richmond Roosters of the independent Frontier League in 1996, hitting .254 in 33 games. He was a member of the University of Texas coaching staff in 1999 and 2000 and then was a Galveston College assistant in 2001. He was a coach at San Jacinto College from 2002 to 2005 and was back on the University of Texas staff in 2006. From 2007-2021, he was head coach at St. Edward's University. Penders was fired in December 2021 amid allegations of racism and discrimination [1].
Penders is the brother of college coach Jim Penders III. His father Jim is a longtime high school baseball coach, while his uncle Tom Penders played in the minors before becoming a college basketball coach.
