Robert Antony

Biographical Information[edit]

Rob Antony was named Assistant General manager of the Minnesota Twins in 2007. He stepped in for GM Terry Ryan from February to May 2014 while Ryan was undergoing treatment for cancer. On July 18, 2016, he succeeded Ryan on an interim basis when Ryan was fired with the Twins in last place in the AL Central. After the 2016 World Series, he was replaced by Thad Levine.

Antony was still a junior at the University of Minnesota when he got his first job with the Twins, as a public relations intern. It was the summer of 1987, the year the Twins won a completely unexpected World Series title. His first official job came as assistant director of the media relations department in 1988. He then took a job in the team's scouting department, working in international scouting, before being named an assistant to GM Bill Smith. He kept the title when Ryan replaced Smith and started his second stint as GM in 2011. He added the title of Vice-president in 2013.
