Rio Bravo is located in the northern Mexican state of Tamaulipas, on the Rio Grande River (which is known in Mexico as the Rio Bravo). It is 12 miles south of Weslaco, TX, 30 miles west of Matamoros, Tamaulipas and 18 miles east of Reynosa, Tamaulipas. Efraín Ibarra and Marcelo Juárez were born here.
