Biographical Information[edit]

Shortstop Ricky Magdaleno played minor league ball for more than a decade.

After being selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the second round of the 1992 amateur draft and signed by scout Larry Barton, Magdaleno made his pro debut the following year with the Charleston Wheelers. With the Winston-Salem Spirits in 1994, he hit .261 with 13 home runs. Playing with the Chattanooga Lookouts in 1996, he recorded career highs with 60 runs, 17 homers, and 63 RBIs.

Between 1998 and 2000, Magdaleno played in the Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox, Seattle Mariners, and San Diego Padres organizations. He spent 2000 through 2005 playing baseball in various independent leagues.
