Biographical Information[edit]

Rickey Clark was signed by the Detroit Tigers in 1965. He was selected by the California Angels in the 1966 Rule V draft and spent his entire major league career with the Angels.

Rickey had a very good season as a rookie in 1967, going 12-11 with a 2.59 ERA in 174 innings, but then experienced arm trouble. In 1968, he was only 1-11; his 3.53 ERA may look decent, but it was actually very much below average in the "Year of the Pitcher". He only pitched 6 games in 1969, missed the entire 1970 season, then came back to pitch well at the end of 1971, when he was 2-1, 2.86 in 11 games. He was back in the starting rotation in 1972, but did not do well, with a 4.51 ERA in another pitcher's year, and a record of 4-9. He was sold to the Philadelphia Phillies after the season, but never pitched in the majors again.
