Richard Greenslade batted .222/.263/.222 and fielded .846 as the primary third baseman for the South African national team in the 1998 Baseball World Cup. He hit .385/?/.923 with 6 RBI in four games for them when they won the 1999 All Africa Games. Splitting third base with Morne Mackay, he hit homers off Nigeria's Ceaser Ofoedu and Ghana's Mohammed Sherrif. His .385 average was lowest on the powerhouse offense.
